There are so many fun ways to be a part of the Tailwind Regional Balloon Fest on May 18 and 19, 2018. For this huge community event with 30 balloons and so many activities, we’ll need almost 100 volunteers. Volunteer opportunities range from helping with the 5K Glow Run, the kids fun area, tethered balloon rides, the information booth, the vendor area, the entertainment area and the volunteer tent to parking cars and taking tickets, passing out flyers, banners and posters before the festival, and being a part of a chase crew for each balloon. The chase crew will work with the balloonists and get to be hands-on with the balloons, whether it is unpacking the balloons, inflating the balloons, or literally chasing the balloons to their landing sites. Chase crew volunteers must have a valid driver’s license. This is a great chance for a unique experience, to be a part of a big community event, and to build up some volunteer hours for college and/or scholarship applications.
